The Age of Fast Decisions in Automotive: Success Through User-Centered Reporting

As Doğuş Teknoloji, we carried out a significant digital transformation project in the field of user-centered reporting (self-service reporting) with the Volkswagen Passenger Vehicle Sales Department. Our goal was to respond to the increasing need for data with a fast, reliable, and user-friendly reporting infrastructure, accelerating business processes, strengthening decision-making mechanisms, and enabling the sales team to instantly adapt to market dynamics.


From Data to Decisions: Concrete Steps Taken

As a result of our collaboration with the Volkswagen Passenger Vehicle Sales Department, we implemented two different dashboards on Microsoft’s advanced business intelligence platform, Power BI, using data sets from our central data pool and our development consultancy:

  • Volkswagen Passenger Sales Dashboard: Enabled real-time analysis of sales trends, allowing strategic decisions to be made faster and more accurately. This empowered teams to respond much more quickly to changing market dynamics.
  • Turkey Automotive Market Analysis Dashboard: Consolidated market share, sales volumes, and trends into a single framework, facilitating competitive analysis and supporting the development of more holistic strategies. This comprehensive perspective contributed to shaping both short-term opportunities and long-term strategies on a stronger foundation.

Concrete gains achieved through the self-service reporting infrastructure we built allowed the team to save an average of 1 hour per day, totaling 260 hours annually. Routine reporting processes were automated; manual tasks decreased, allowing the team to focus on value-added activities such as strategy development.

The designed dashboards provided real-time access to critical metrics, significantly reducing reporting wait times and enhancing data literacy across the company while strengthening the culture of working with data.

Impact of Strategic Transformation

This project enabled faster, more accurate, and data-driven decision-making at the Volkswagen Passenger Vehicle Sales Department. Thanks to its scalable structure, other business units can achieve similar gains using the same infrastructure. This once again demonstrated how properly structured data contributes both to operational efficiency and strategic governance.
